We are sharing this information. This was in a message posted on www.Orangecountygov.com yesterday 03/13/2020 from Orange County Executive, Steve Neuhaus.

In light of the school closings, my office and staff are working with BOCES and our local schools in support of efforts to provide meals for school children who regularly receive school breakfasts and/or lunches. Whether you are part of a program or not, we do not want anyone to go hungry at any time, particularly as a result of the emergency school closures. Families in need of assistance can contact their schools or my office at 845-291-2700.

I know personally the strength of America and the people of Orange County. Together, we will weather this. Please feel free to email my office at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or call 845-291-2700 if I can be of assistance.

New York residents will need an enhanced driver’s license or a REAL ID compatible driver’s license by October 1, 2020, if they want to use it to get on a domestic flight, enter certain federal buildings or enter military bases. With that in mind, it is highly recommended that New Yorkers who plan to travel upgrade from a standard driver’s license to a REAL ID or enhanced license get it sooner, rather than later.

A New York’s REAL ID driver’s licenses has a star in the upper right corner to indicate that it meets federal regulations that establish minimum security standards. The enhanced driver’s license has a U.S. flag on the bottom right of the license.

For more information and details about how to obtain REAL ID driver's license or identification card in new York, and to determine which form of ID is right for you, visit the New York State DMV website.     TSA also has a one-minute video that provides information about flying with REAL ID.
